I serve as a scholar-in-residence for Jewish heritage tours to Europe offered by Ayelet Tours. These trips allow us to delve into the incredibly rich Jewish history and culture of Eastern Europe in the very places where it emerged and thrived over centuries. Whether we’re walking through the alleys of medieval Jewish quarters, marveling at the stunning and inspiring architecture of modern synagogues, mourning together at sites of mass destruction, or celebrating together at the first shoots of the rebirth of Jewish communities, these are unforgettable experiences that bring us together and build community as we travel through the region. My historical lectures provide important context for the sites that we’re seeing and I enrich our daily tours with voices from the past: historical documents, poetry, memoirs, and songs.
